This year, The North Jersey Blues Alliance and the Festival are partnering with the Nikhil Badlani Foundation to educate and enrich the lives of our children through music.
The Nikhil Badlani Foundation was established in July 2011 to honor the memory of 11-year-old Nikhil Badlani, who was killed in a car crash on June 11, 2011, when a driver ran a STOP sign.
The mission of the Foundation is to expand and enhance the lives of underserved children in West Orange, New Jersey, and neighboring communities through individualized lessons for talented musicians, scholarships for graduating seniors, and traffic safety awareness and education for all. The mission of the North Jersey Blues Alliance is to preserve “America’s Classical Music: THE BLUES”, while supporting the music education needs of our talented youth.
The Nikhil Badlani Foundation will host the 6th Annual USATF certified STOP For Nikhil 5K Run/Walk to remember those who died and to honor those who have been seriously injured in motor vehicle crashes on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at West Orange High School. Register, start a team or donate at www.stopfornikhil.org and help spread the message “Drive Smart. Save a Life.” Thanks to the partnership with Essex County, participants will receive discounted admission to Turtle Back Zoo, Mini Golf Safari and Codey Arena on race day when they show their Run/Walk bibs.
Please show your support for these worthy causes and organizations, as they strive to make a difference in all of our lives. Thank You!
